Volunteer Your Way to Happiness + 5 Opportunities to Get Involved Today

{HABIT: Gratitude}
Month: 11 / Week: 4

We all have something to be grateful for and something we can give away. We’re better off than someone else in some way or another. Why not use those blessings to give back to those who need it?

We should certainly count our blessings, but we should also make our blessings count.” – Neal A. Maxwell

volunteermainYou don’t need to be wealthy or have some special expertise to help others. And volunteering isn’t reserved for merely boosting college applications and resumes. Anyone can do it. And it’s easier than you think to find somewhere near you and for a cause you want to be involved with.

By volunteering or doing acts of kindness for someone else, you’re allowing that individual to experience gratitude. You get what you give and you give what you get. Keep giving away your blessings and you’ll make the world a better place. I know this may sound all fru-fru to some of you but it really is a positive habit that can benefit you and those around you.

Thankfulness is the beginning of gratitude. Gratitude is the completion of thankfulness. Thankfulness may consist merely of words. Gratitude is shown in acts.” – Henri Frederic Amiel
