Ways to Love Yourself First

You ever get those good versus evil voices in your head?  Like the angel and devil you see in cartoons? You know, the ones that help us make decisions of what to do and how to think.  On the one side, you have the voice of love, kindness, joy, serenity, reason, strength, hope, inspiration… On the other, there’s the voice of failure, doubt, contempt, regret, guilt, defeat, imperfection, fear. We all have these qualities and it’s perfectly normal. But sometimes we choose the side that isn’t in our best interest. Especially when it comes to taking care of ourselves. We tell ourselves we will fail, we’re not good enough, not “what ever” enough. But it doesn’t have to be that way.

The side that wins is the side that trains.

You’re the coach here. Who do you want to train more? Both of these voices are within each of us. And if we work to make the nurturing voice louder and stronger, we work toward improving our lives.

And you do that by finding ways to love yourself first. When you take care of you, you have so much more to give and receive from the world.
